Secure America’s Future Economy (formerly Seniors Against Federal Extravagance) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization. Check out our Website (s-a-f-e.org), including the weekly blog.
Organized in 1996, we have been urging the U.S. government to get its fiscal act together ever since.
With the government in a $54 trillion fiscal hole and a $1.2 trillion deficit projected for the current fiscal year, the need for action has never been greater.
The suggested cure: (1) Slash spending, (2) Restructure entitlements, (3) Simplify taxes, and (4) Rationalize regulations. If free markets and the private sector are permitted to function, there will be no need for an ever-larger government to “create jobs” and “run the economy.”
Raising taxes is less desirable, both due to the drag effect on the economy and because Congress cannot be trusted to use the revenues for deficit reduction. Spending should be cut first!
We welcome your interest and support, and would be delighted if you would join us in trying to avert a fiscal meltdown. It is the right thing to do – for us, for our children and grandchildren, and for all Americans.
