Del. postpones presidential primary again (Sarah Gamard)

News Journal report: Gov. Carney issued an order delaying the DE presidential primary again, this time until Tuesday, July 7. The purpose for the delay, according to this story, is to ensure that “all registered Democrats and Republicans who didn’t already request an absentee ballot will now get an absentee ballot application in the mail so they can vote from home.” Voters can still go to the polls on [July 7], but not all of the polling places will be open. Going forward, look for legislative proposals to provide for early voting, no excuse absentee ballots, and voting by mail – but they “either haven’t fully passed or won’t go into effect until after this year.”
